Meaningful Locations Photography

May 5 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm CDT

Let’s expand pride in Racine! Join Community Powered in bringing visibility to meaningful locations for the LGBTQ+ community in Racine. On May 5, share a photo of your meaningful location. Then, Community Powered will proudly share your meaningful location in its galleries on Tuesday, May 23 and Thursday, June 1.

A meaningful location is any place with personal or communal significance — wherever you feel a sense of belonging to your community. Examples could include a booth in your favorite restaurant or the landscape at your favorite park.

For your submission, please include the geolocation of the photo’s site and a short description of why the location is meaningful to you. If you send more than one submission, please include this information for each.

You can take the photo using any device you feel comfortable with. Photographers of all experience levels are invited to participate.

Submitting your photo grants the Racine Public Library, the LGBT Center of Southeast Wisconsin and Community Powered to use the photo in displays and promotions.

Please contact Anthony Cattani (they/them) with any questions at Anthony.Cattani@WisconsinHumanities.org.
